Refuting Claim of Historical Nature of Glorious Quran for Modernists in Light of Rule of Extension and Application

Abstract

Modernists stir numerous suspicions on Glorious Quran as a result of their superficial readings, as well as their significant influence by Western studies on the Glorious Quran. Among those suspicions raised by them is the suspicion of (Historicity of Glorious Quran), which means that Ayats of Glorious Quran are linked to their time and period, and consequently, they are invalid for application to other times. This suspicion—which is massive in its claim—is refuted by the statements of the People of Infallibility, Ahlalbayt (Peace Be Upon Them); for they (Peace Be Upon Them) pointed out that the Ayats are not bounded by time or place, but rather they run as the night and day, and the sun and moon do . In this research, the researcher exposes this suspicion and demonstrates its collapse through the rule “Textual Extension” to which reference is made in Hadiths of the Pure Progeny (Peace Be Upon Them).
