Some Functions of Silence in School Spaces

Abstract

The present study aims to trace the functions of the silence in school spaces on different levels: communication, psychology, education...etc. Silence is a very effective communicative activity, rich in deep meanings, Filled with symbols. Therefore, we think that's very important to understand it, to be aware of its origins and its various appearances, and even to use it to improve the teaching act, with the opportunities it offers for contemplation, reflection, calming of minds and discipline's strengthening.
